Michael Cera Holding Up “Arrested Development” Movie?
It increasingly seems that all parties are on track to make an “Arrested Development” movie - except perhaps for Michael Cera.
From Mitch Hurwitz, who is the creator and executive producer of the show, to narrator and producer Ron Howard and much of the cast, enthusiasm for the project is high.
In fact, “Juno” and “Superbad” actor Michael Cera, who played George Michael Bluth, appears to be the lone holdout.
Fancast scored an interview with Hurwitz, and he revealed the following:
So what of the rumors that new dad Will Arnett and shiny movie star Michael Cera are the only two remaining holdouts?
“I don’t want to talk about who is holding out right now because we might still work that out and I don’t want to pressure anyone through the press,” said Hurwitz. “Although I will say that Will Arnett is gung-ho, so there’s a big clue!”
More than a big clue, it’s the big Maebe resting in George Michael’s hands.

Sending George Michael to college is an option, but i really hope Cera decides to do it. I don’t know that it would be the same without him.

I heard one of the greatest options for George-Michael:
Send him to the Milford Academy….where he can neither be seen not heard…
I’ve seen people willing to boycott Michael Cera’s movies if he doesn’t do it.

I can see why Cera might be holding out. He’s got his own aspirations and probably sees this as a step backwards for his career now that he’s established himself as an independent funnyman. That being said, COME ON! I really want to see this movie, and he should at least make up his mind so we can know rather than speculating for months.

michael cera isn’t as awesome as he thinks he is. he plays the same character in all 3 hit movies he’s had. seriously…between juno and nick & nora…he was almost the same kid, except for the name change. i like him, don’t get me wrong. but he’s an idiot if he doesn’t do this movie. he needs to branch out anyway if he wants to reach any kind of aspirations of making it in the movie business. i say you blackmail him into doing it.
